It Valentine's Day on 14th February!

“The rose is red, the violet's blue,
The lot was cast and then I drew,
And Fortune said it shou'd be you.”

It’s the time when you can express your love in person or anonymously.

Valentine's Day was first associated with love in the time of Chaucer. The importance of the day grew in the 18th century when lovers showed their love for each other by giving sweets, flowers or cards which became know as ‘Valentines’.

In Europe keys were given to symbolize the unlocking of the givers heart.

“The honey's sweet, and so are you.
Thou art my love and I am thine;
I drew thee to my Valentine.”

Valentine's Day is celebrated in many countries and the Heart has become the symbol most associated with this special day although doves and Cupid are also seen.
