The beautiful yellow Citrine gemstone is the birthstone for November and the zodiac sign Scorpio.

Citrine is the name of a colour, the beautiful yellow inspired by yellow citrus. Citrine gemstones can vary in colour from yellow, greenish-yellow, brownish yellow to orange. We try to source Citrine gems that are golden yellow and have that inner glow.

The name ‘Citrine’ can be traced back to the 16th century and is thought that the most likely source is the French word “citron” meaning lemon.

Citrine gemstones have been used in jewellery for thousands of years. In the 17th century Scottish men used citrines on the handles of their daggers and swords. Yellow quartz or citrine gemstones can be found in the mountainous regions of Scotland and these stones are know as Cairngorms.
