Citrine gemstones are a yellow quartz which has been used in jewellery for thousands of years. Citrines can vary in colour from pale to deep yellow, greenish-yellow, brownish yellow to orange. The name "Citrine" can be traced back to the 16th century from the French word “citron” meaning lemon. The powers attributed to Citrines are associated with enhancing self-empowerment, healthy self-esteem and creativity and the realization of hopes and dreams. Citrine gemstones are said to remove negative feelings and promote healthy interpersonal relationships. Increased wealth and prosperity are included in Citrine meaning. Citrine gemstones are known as The Merchant's Stone for this very reason. The cheery yellow Citrine gemstone is the birthstone for November (which it shares with Topaz) and the birthstone for the Scorpio Zodiac Sign (23 October to 21 November). |
